1 Free Wi-Fi
Google announced in September 2016 to provide 400 Wi-Fi at railway stations in India. Now there are 50 stations with Google Wi-Fi offering high-quality internet to 3.5 Million people each month. Google has also launched a new campaign to reach more people in other public areas such as malls and café. Google has given it the name “Google Station” which gives partners an easy set of tools to roll-out Wi-Fi hotspots in public places. Google Station will provide software and guidance on hardware to turn fiber connections into fast, reliable and safe Wi-Fi zones.
2. Google Assistant in Hindi
Google launched its smart messaging App “Allo” a few days ago. It is armored with some fantastic feature. Google Assistant is one of them. It helps in answering the user queries. Currently, it is available in English. But it will be available in Hindi too later this year
3. Faster, better chrome on mobile
Today’s world is a mobile world. And Google understands it more than anyone else. That’s why it is putting special efforts in making Google Chrome for Android more efficient and user-friendly. Now save data up to 60% with the expanded data saver feature. In addition, you can now save up to 67% data in viewing video too on chrome on mobile. Also, Chrome on Android will automatically optimize pages to their essentials when 2G-like networks are detected.
4. YouTube Go
The product team at Google spent a year to learn from users in India about their accessing and affordability challenges towards YouTube. Now Google has come with a brand new mobile app named “YouTube Go”, to load and play YouTube videos smoothly across various connectivity situations. YouTube Go got a handy feature that enables users to share videos with friends and family nearby without using any data. YouTube Go will be exclusive India-only at first exclusively. 5. Google News now on lite mode
Lite mode for “Google News and Weather” App is now available in its latest version. Lite mode keeps the headline but trims the rest of the components so that the app loads swiftly on low bandwidth connections. Lite mode uses less than 1/3 data.
